::Happy Thanksgiving::

:: Its thats time again, joining with friends and family to all celebrate what we are thankful for over a yummy warm meal and a big fat turkey! My favorite ( and you get turkey sandwiches for the next week too! ) As I was sitting in Church this morning I was thinking, do we really take the time to say what we are thankful for? do we really make it known what we are thankful for, friends, family, and do we tell them? I couldn't help but think that people may get so caught up in "the perfect dinner" that we forget what its all about. So before you have your turkey dinner tonight or tomorrow night, right after blessing the meal, take a few minutes as a family in silence and make sure that you thank the Lord for what matters to you and what He has provided you! And then dig in!!!!!!!!!

:: Happy One Year of being One! ::
:: On October 6th we celebrated our one year Anniversary! We got the same suite as we had on our wedding night at the Sheraton Hotel. Such fun! We had a nice day of running around and doing our errands since we were gone for the week before and just unpacked to pack up again for the night. We checked into the room and enjoyed a few chocolate covered strawberries left with a nice card from the hotel, and we then decided that we would go to Earls for dinner sine thats where Bobby's favorite meal is. We enjoyed a nice quiet dinner and then headed to the movies and cuddled up and watched it. I forget the name of the movie but it was ok. (My oreggo brain is on overdrive at times) After that was done we headed back to the hotel and stopped by their little lounge and shared a piece of cheesecake, yummy! It was about 10:00 and we decided that we would head upstairs and watch TV since we were both pooped form all the traveling and running around. After I got out of the washroom Bobby was standing there with out wedding cake in his hands that was frozen a year ago, and we had our bites all over again. So sweet!::
:: Looking back on the year I can't believe that the Lord has brought us here. So many thing that we have learned and the grace that He gives us to try to be the perfect other. Being married for a year and now we are expecting our first little blessing, our seasons are full.My life with Bobby is truly blessed and I just can't imagine loving anything the way that I love him. I am just so excited for what the next year holds for us, and know that everything is planned in His books. You make me the happiest and I am so blessed to be called your wife and to do life with you! Love yah babe! XOX
:: Busy, but I am here! ::
:: Well Vegas was fabulous! All the lights and action, wow. I have never seen anything like it. We did a lot of walking and hotel wondering, but also took advantage of the air conditioning cause it was HOT! Bobby spent a lot of time in the pool and I spent a lot of time sleeping (imagine that) We had such a wonderful time, and looking back on it I wished that it could have lasted longer. We ended up renting a car one day and went to Hoover Dam, the outlets, drove to the old part of Vegas and went for a nice dinner. I can't get over how much people eat down there. I mean the all you can eat buffet is like $12.95 and you have everything from crab, roast beef, steak, pasta, sushi and pretty much anything, and the size of the desserts, oh my! My sweet toothed husband could not even finish a piece of cake (it was more like half a cake) I have alot of pictures but for some reason my computer will not do the picture cube so you will have to enjoy the ones that I chose. I would love to go down again, but I am not sure how soon that will be with our little precious peach on the way::
:: After we got back from Vegas we went to the Island to visit with some friends for the weekend. Rod and Leah have planted a church their and we went to a service and just hung out with a few people that we have not seen for a few years. It was great and its so good to see the Lord moving on the Island. The Church was warm and loving and all the people their had such servants hearts. Thanks Rod and Leah for a great weekend and for opening your house to us. You guys are blessed and may the Lord continue His good works in you! ::

:: Las Vegas- here we come ::

:: Bobby and I are heading to Las Vegas!!!!! We arranged our vacation time around our one year anniversary, and decided that we would go to Las Vegas for 5 days. We are leaving first thing Monday morning, but we are heading down to Seattle for Sunday night so we don't have to wake up at 3 in the morning. I am so excited! This is my first time down and Bobby has not been for like 13 years so I am sure things have changed. We have a total of 2 1/2 weeks off so we will be doing a few day trips, a day at the spa and of course getting ready for the baby! I just re-did the spare bedroom and was almost completed that but now it is going to change to the nursery. I will be sure to post some pictures when we get back and throughout our vacation, so stay tuned! VEGAS BABY! woohoo!!!

:: Congrats Kam & Preet ::
:: As I was saying in my last post Bobby and I went to our good friends Kam and Preet's wedding and reception. Bobby was actually in the wedding party so I was able to see him in a traditional Indian suit! And I wasn't able to get a picture :( I am sure I will be able to track one down. In fact I didn't get many photos on the actual ceremony part, being in the temple and that I wasn't sure what their rules were on that. I have been to a few in the past but everyone seems so different in ways. These pictures are from the reception that was held Sunday night in Surrey. My in-laws came and were able to stay for a few hours and enjoy some yummy indian food! We also got to sit with Toni and Lauren, so it was nice to catch up with them. They even were brave enough to go on the dance floor and shake it up Indian style woohoo!!! When we got the chance to see Preet and Kam, all I could think of was how beautiful she was. Stunning! She looked like a little doll, nothing was out of place and the outfit...WOW! We are so happy for you two, we both stand in agreement that your lives as one will be full of blessings and overflow, and that the Lord will bless you all the days of your lives ::

:: Last Wednesday night I was able to go to Womens Wednesdays (put on by the beautiful Shawna and Lisa) I just wanted to take this time to say thank you to you two for what you have done. Thank you for running with what the Lord has put in your heart and being faithful in Him! Not only are you furthering the Kingdom, but you are ministering to Women of all sorts and reestablishing there relationship with Him. The night was perfect and every little detail was looked after! I am sure that every women there felt loved, encouraged and blessed by what you have done.I was able to bring two girls that I work with that are going through some tough times and they could not stop talking about it afterwards. They don't attend church but they have stated that they want to come back next time. I know for a fact that you have touched the lives of these two precious women. May the Lord continue to bless the ministry and you two for your good works.::

:: Friday Night Blessing ::
:: After work on Friday our friends Mary and Johnathan invited us over for dinner and fellowship. Mary works with Bobby so it was nice for all of us to get together. They blessed us with a fabulous meal. Johnathan was on the BBQ with chicken and lamb, while Mary was busy in the kitchen making a greek salad (my favorite) and potatoes. I was so hungry when it was time to eat that I think I might have eaten the same amount as Bobby. It was sooooo good I couldn't resist! For dessert Mary had some yummy ice-cream with fresh blueberries and peaches mmmm. After dinner we sat around and chatted and enjoyed our friendship with them. The night went by really fast, it usually does when your having fun, so we put a end to the sweet night and headed home. I forgot my camera so I couldn't take any pictures :( (I think Bobby was happy about that) so please forgive me for not taking any pictures of the yummy food and great company!::
:: Mary and Johnathan, you are such a blessing to us, thank you for opening your home to us and blessing us with a wonderful meal! You guys have such a servants heart and I pray complete blessing over your lives and overflow in all areas. We love you and appreciate you!::
:: Spider Man ::
:: Saturday was my nephew's 4th Birthday party with all his little friends and family. It was so much fun, we enjoyed great company and great food. My mom had talked to Rohan and asked him what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday and his response was "Spider Man". If any of you know my Mom you would know that she always goes all out for anything, so being the great Nona that she is, she got a idea and went with it!!! I took one look at it and thought WOW! She has yet outdone herself once again! I was at her house helping away with the icing, watching how her brain works, and I just pray that I get the same giftinga as her. Needless to say when it was time to sing Happy Birthday all the kids were jumping up and down and would not take their eyes off the cake! I think the same went with the parents! Great job Mom! You are such a amazing daughter, sister, mother and nona!::

*1/2 cup salted butter (room temp)
*1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temp)

*cap full of desired flavoring
*1/2 bag of icing sugar
*2-4 tablespoons of very cold milk
~ First whip butter(s) and shortening together until nice and fluffy

:: Buy Of The Week ::
::If you have read my past posts I was looking for pillows for our couches to make it look more homey and not so lonely. So I ventured out in search of the perfect pillows and I went everywhere. I tried deciding on a color ( cause we will be doing a few little renos soon ) and I didn't want to spend a bunch. I looked online and in the stores and figured I was going to have to spend about $19.99 on each, so that would come to about $80.00 for four. If you know anything about me it is that I am a bargain shopper. I never pay the full price on things ( I haven't always been like this either ) so I ended up finding these pillow covers, which are the same color as our walls at the dollar store! Yes, they were only $1 each! I would have to say that they were a pretty good find. My Mom does all the curtins for the show homes and that ( she has her own business ) so she was able to get a a fabulous deal on some down pillows so all together it only ended up costing me a total of $29.08 for all four! Good find Lysh! So now here is the question, what do you think of my pillows?::
:: And Then Comes Dinner::
:: After taking pictures of the table we had some friends join us for dinner. My sweet husband LOVES to cook and is very good at it, so he went to town and blessed us all with a wonderful meal. If you ever get a chance to taste my husbands salmon consider yourself blessed! He will not give anyone his "secret recipe" so I encourage you to invite yourself over for dinner. It tastes so yummy, sweet, almost like candy yet it is so juicy! Babe, you do such a wonderful job and we truly make such a good team with your cooking and my baking! ::
::Question for You::
::My Mom and I often have strange conversations. One of the latest ones that we have had is, If you could only have one piece of furniture in your house what would it be? Hmmmmm, with lots of thought on that one we came up with the same answers::
::All through my life my Mom has always made up a table with a table cloth, cloth napkins, candles, centerpiece and always uses her good china. I couldn't help but think to myself all the good memories that table holds. You play games on it, you do your homework on it, you talk about your day, do scrapbooking, decorate cookies and cakes, have some of the hardest and best conversations, enjoy tea with a friend or two, I could go on and on. When Bobby and I were engaged we went shopping for a dinning room table (which was a must for me) because it always held memories for me. I am not sure if anyone else could relate to this with me, but my answer would forsure be a table. When we have guest over I always do up the table with all of my good dishes, candles. tablecloth and centerpieces. I know when I go to places and they have done that how special it makes me feel and I pray that for the people who come here, will feel that too::
:: So here is a question for you? If you could only have one piece of furniture in your house what would that be and why?::
:: She's Here ::

:: I have been so busy this weekend! My best friend Nicki arrived on Saturday from Toronto. She will be staying for a week and visiting with her family and Bobby and I. We have been best friends since we were five years old and she is such a amazing woman. We have been through our ups and downs but overall she has never given up on our friendship and neither have I. What makes a friendship so strong like that? How do you make sure your still as close as ever when she moved away when she was twelve? Were you always close? What is so special about the friendship? These are the questions that we often get when people find out how long we have been friends for. All I can say about that is simply the Lord puts certain people in your life for sometimes a season, and better yet for life. She has done so much for me and always makes it known that she loves me, and would do anything she can to help me, encourage me, love on me and simply just make me laugh! I pray that each of you have experienced someone like this in your life, and if you did, holdfast and let them know that you love them! I love you Nicki and look forward to spending so many more years with you! -XOX- ::

I know that you are too little to understand this, but as the years go on we are here to remind you of how much we love you. God bless you and may this next year be filled with much blessings::

::Long Weekend Part 2::
::Monday we slept in until 11, yah thats right, and sat outside on our deck and just enjoyed the sun! Bobby was doing his daily devotions and i started working on a project that I will show you once it is complete. We decided to head down to Crescent Beach and had a ice-cream cone and watched the tide come in. Such beautiful weather sun and a bit of a breeze, couldn't ask for a better way to end a long weekend. It was a quite one but we enjoyed it so much! Hope you had a great one as well and look forward to seeing your posts on what you did::
:: Long Weekend Part 1::
::I started my day off on Saturday going to my friend Marie's house and helping out our Pastor Suzanna and Cheryl make some cupcakes. They asked us if we would help them as they are trying to raise funds for the mission trip to Guatemala, we spent the whole day making them and icing them, so if your interested in buying some please let me know, they are $5.00 for a dozen mini cupcakes::
::On Sunday after church Bobby and I packed up and headed out to Cultus Lake once again with our friends Mike and Rhonda. We love spending time with them and LOVE the sun, so what better to do then enjoy both! We set up our chairs on the lakeside and Bobby and Mike went for a dip in the lake which was cold, I don't know how they did it. We watched all the kids playing around and throwing each other off the pier, and the cutest little girl was playing in the sand and having a good splash. After the boys were done and dried off we headed to Rhonda's mom's house ( they went to spend the weekend in Whistler ) and was setting up for a bond fire and a BBQ. They live in Cultus and have such a amazing view, it seemed like you were at a cabin! We had such a good time, had yummy food, smores and my first time ever trying diet Pepsi (I am more of a Coke girl) The time just flew by and next thing we knew we looked at the time and it was almost 2 so we started packing up and headed home. It was such a beautiful day and we were so thankful Mary for letting us borrow your beautiful home::
:: Happy BC Day ::

The Dogwood tree ( Cornus Nuttalli ) became the official floral emblem in 1956! WOW, thanks Google =) Pray that you have having a ball this weekend and will check in later to do some more posts ::

::Mexican Jumping Almonds::
::I was at the store a few weeks ago and I came across some salted almonds, and I was wanting to get them but then I looked at the price and I thought to myself, that could be 3 Starbucks!!! I decided to experiment and try to make them on my own tonight. What I did is take 1 egg white and mixed it in my Kitchen Aid until it got frothy, and then i dumped in a cup of plain almonds, laid them out on a pan and put cracked fresh salt on top and baked them in the oven at 400 for 15 minutes. The result....my expensive salty almonds and my 3 Starbucks :) Go ahead and give it a try and let me know how it works out for you::
::Meat for my Man::
::Why is it that guys love meat so much? Bobby loves all kinds of meat. I planned out yesterday that I was going to tempt and try to make my very first round of ribs tonight. I had everything planned out and all the dinner stuff ready to go for when I got home from work. I am not a fan of cooking meat, chicken I can handle, but I never picked up on the steak, ribs and lamb. Bobby was taking his after work nap so I went at it. A few calls to my Mom about a few things and I was getting excited, until I took the foil off the ribs and I am thinking to myself "these do not look too appealing" Sitting there wondering if I should just toss them I decided that I would give it a shot and see what it would look like when it was done. 45 minutes passed and ta-dah!!! I laid out the table and went to wake Bobby up, we sat down and I was so excited to see how he was going to rate them.........and he liked them!!!! I have to admit that they tasted pretty good for my first shot. So next time you try to cook something that you have never done before, just believe that it is going to taste good, and even if it doesn't look too appealing at first, wait, cause it will eventually::
